Handmade since 1974!
Did you know that In-Step is a family owned business? Andy started out making shoes for the surfers on the beaches of Jeffreys Bay. He would trace the leather to the shape of their feet individually, cut it out and sew them up by hand! Still today, our customers will say that our shoes feel like they were made for their feet!
In the meantime, Andy’s team has grown to around 10 employees and its products are manufactured with love and partly long-term experience by the local – predominantly female – talents from the adjacent township.
Durable and Comfortable!
The result of Andy’s teamwork is a comfortable , cool looking – or “kiff,” as South Africa puts it -, and a warm shoe made from the finest South African materials; Sheepskin lining, fully lined on the outside with durable cowhide and a non-slip TPR (ThermoPlasticRubber) sole. In addition, JBAYBOOTS® have a heel reinforced by thick leather to keep the shoe in shape and prevents collapsing of the heel.
Waxed seams and impregnation of the leather also increase durability and make the boot almost water repellent.
100% cool!
JBAYBOOTS® are available in various designs – even up to a version for very large feet!
Everybody with a shoe size from 33 (UK1) to 49 (UK14) can choose between numerous variants of colours, colour combinations and surfaces.
JBAYBOOTS® go Europe!
An enthusiasm developed by Daniel and Sandra in 2015 first became a plan together with Andy, and finally it became a reality.
The legendary JBAYBOOTS® have finally been available in Europe since 2017.
